Have-a-question

CMDepot and LEED®

Resources-header

The LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings.  LEED® promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality.

How does CMDepot help a company or project that is going for LEED®

CMDepot will assist in three possible ways for the following LEED® Materials and Resources (MR) Credits:

  • MR Credit 2 - Waste Diversion:  CMDepot allows companies to sell off leftover materials and equipment at the end of a project that would otherwise be sent to a landfill if the Owner or company does not want them.  This meets the intent of diverting waste from a landfill.
  • MR Credit 3 - Material Reuse:  CMDepot assists companies in finding materials that can be reused for a project.  Furthermore, with our Invoice Generator feature (available under the Company Plan - see our Pricing section), CMDepot makes it easy for companies to create or obtain back-up documentation supporting the application for this credit.
  • MR Credit 5 - Regional Materials:  CMDepot has a built-in "Geocode search" that allows you to find materials within a certain radius of your location.  As this credit allows you to count "reused" materials bought from a location within the 500 mile radius of the project going for certification, it is easy to locate materials that would qualify for this credit.

Even if you are a small company or builder, the invoice generation tool provided by CMDepot in the company plan can help make your posted materials more attractive.

If you have any questions regarding our website and LEED®, please do not hesitate to contact us through our Feedback section.  Two of the three founders of CMDepot are LEED® Accredited Professionals and we would be glad to answer your questions.
